Most "fixes" have to do with windows updates or index rebuilding. I've searched online, and it seems like there were many people with this search/index problem when Windows 10 first came out, but nothing specific to it breaking when it joins a domain. This computer did come with a pre-installed version of Windows 10 from Lenovo, but I am not sure if that would make a difference or not. I first thought this must be a group policy issues, but we have had one Windows 10 computer in our environment for the past few months and this computer is working just fine and has been joined to the domain for the past 4 months. The search worked fine prior to joining the domain and I also had all the latest windows updates installed. When I click on the start button and type something as simple as Printer, it should find the printer app in the control panel but it only finds Web related things and there is a spinning arrow circle at the top of the results that say "These results may be incomplete". After I attach the computers to our domain and reboot, the search functionality breaks. When I install windows 10, everything seems to work just fine, including the windows search function. I did clean installs of windows 10 from the latest ISO image from Microsoft (as of last week). These are brand new Lenovo laptops and we are starting to test Windows 10 to roll out in our company. I've recently installed Windows 10 on three different computers.
